About Me
Hi, I'm Kari! I am an eLearning Specialist located in Indianapolis. I have been focused on eLearning for the past five years and am passionate about digital learning solutions.
So how did I end up here? Like many others in the industry, I found myself in eLearning as an 'accidental instructional designer.' I was able to combine my knowledge of the business with my degree in Communication Design to make an impact on a Learning and Development team. Working two years in the learner's shoes before moving into the role, enabled me to bring a different perspective to the team. I took advantage of every opportunity and found my home in designing and developing eLearning. It's the perfect combination of my interests, allowing me to be creative and continuously learn new things. If you've seen Shonda Rhimes Ted Talk, it's my 'hum.' While I find my most joy in creating solutions through eLearning, I've worn many hats in my role ranging from LMS Administrator, Project Manager, and eLearning Content Manager.
In my free time, I like to run on the trail or go on bike rides with my son. I love running because it is so symbolic of life, and it teaches resilience. It's rarely easy, sometimes it's not even enjoyable, but it always gets done. I often do better than I thought I would and I feel great when it's over. I'm sure we've all had a project or two that made us feel this way. I also enjoy relaxing with a good cup of coffee and reading on the patio.
